Matilda

I love musical theatre. Like, ridiculous amounts. I have more iPod playlists dedicated to musicals than anything else.

My exams finished on the 19th, and so on the 20th of June my Mum and I set off for the Cambridge theatre. I had heard a few songs from Matilda and heard amazing reviews so I was so so excited. The entire theatre is so beautiful, with the entire interior dedicated to building the atmosphere of a school and childhood.

It wasn't until we got to the door that my Mum revealed we were in a box. I was so excited- I've never been in one before and it made the evening even more special. Before we sat down, the usher told us that during the first act, actors would come into the box. I literally nearly had a heart attack when I heard that!

Our view was really good, we were slightly to the side but I wouldn't say it made much of a difference. The set is so beautiful with tiles of letters everywhere.

The songs in this musical are amazing, the child actors are so so talented it's unreal, and the plot itself is really good. However, I think my favourite thing is how interactive it is, with the actors running in the aisles frequently. Without giving too much away, the actors came into our box, and it was totally amazing to be that close to them and to really feel like part of the show.

If you do get a chance to go, I would recommend the stalls and the box seats. I think you will have a much more enjoyable experience. I can't wait to go again!

June Book Haul!

So I recently did some shopping for books because now my exams are nearly finished hopefully I'll be reading more!

The first three books I ordered online and I was so excited when they arrived!
Okay so I have never read the Uglies series? But I've heard loads of good things so I definitely want to try them! They should really dark and interesting, and I'm excited to read these!

The next book is "My Life Next Door" which I thought just sounded like a really sweet summer read. I've been reading so much young adult romance novels lately, I'm not even sure why :P

This book I was so excited to read, and I've already started. It's the second one to Anna and The French Kiss, so read that first if you haven't (IT IS AMAZING). You could read this without having read it but it would spoil the ending of Anna and the French Kiss! I am already loving this and I can't wait for Stephanie Perkins to release her third book!

This last book was a bit of an impulse buy from Foyles at Waterloo Station when I was coming back from Guildford. It's such a huge book, I almost didn't realise until  I picked it up again that it's like 700 pages. But this might be nice for if I'm going away for only a few days to have a nice thick book to get through as opposed to having to take two in case I finish one. I love Paris, it's my favourite city (equal to only London) and I just thought I'd give this a go!

So those are the books I brought and will be reading in June! If you've read any of these or have any recommendations let me know!

Beautiful Blush Palette

I have a naturally pale complexion, so blush is a must for me in order to add some colour to my face. However, I'm pretty boring when it comes to blush and I tend to stick to quite dull colours such as pale pink.

I was recently browsing instagram when I saw this blush palette, and so I looked it up on ebay (it's only sold on ebay btw before you judge me and think I'm some tramp). The blush doesn't have a brand, but it's honestly amazing :)
I was amazed at how good quality this is considering it's less than a fiver, and the blusher's are so pigmented! I also love the range of colours. I'm quite dull when it comes to blusher, so having the more reddy/orangey/coral tones should encourage me to experiment more.

Lush May Day Bath Bomb review

This caught my eye on the Lush website because it's for a good cause, to help save badgers! However, I would definitely buy this again.

The actual bath bomb itself just looks SO cute, and smelled really fresh and lemony. I was pleased at how the smell was still as strong in the bath as sometimes it becomes much weaker.

This bath bomb turns your water kind of a smokey grey with a hint of black smudges, so it's not as pretty as some of the others, but I still really liked it. The water makes your skin really soft too which is lovely!

Even my cat who has an intense phobia of water and our bathroom came in to inspect, so it must be a pretty special bath bomb!
